In addition to providing customer services, the office will also accommodate an in-house research and development team specialising in the requirements of the German pay-TV market, the newly founded company NDS GmbH announced. The new office will serve as the central hub for NDS’s German customers. With pay-TV operator Premiere, cable companies Kabel BW and Tele Columbus and IPTV providers Arcor and Telekom Austria, NDS currently has five customers in German-speaking Europe utilising NDS’s encryption system VideoGuard or its middleware MediaHighway.

“We are honoured to be the partner of choice of the leading pay TV providers and platform operators in this important market. The opening of our German office in Unterföhring, near Munich, will allow us to enhance our reach and local support capabilities to best serve our existing and future customers,” said Caroline Le Bigot, vice president and general manager of NDS for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The German office will be headed by Yves Padrines, vice president business development at NDS, who will also act as general manager of NDS GmbH.
