ACP, the French association of private networks, gathering together TF1, M6 and Canal+, has once again disagreed with the amount of compensation that will be granted to France Télévisions after the prime time partial ad ban.
The ACP “is regretting that this €450 million amount is not taking
fully into account France Télévisions’ real commercial performances and
the ad market state in 2008 and has not been submitted to any
contradictory analysis.”
Standing against the new taxes that include a tax on private networks’
complementary ad revenues and one on mobile operators turnover, the ACP
estimates that the prime-time ad ban will not cost France Télévisions
more than €250 million. And it is harshly lobbying for parliamentary
deputies to bring the compensation back to more reliable figures.
